Functionality
Cryolipolysis works with the local effect of cold and stands for the initiation of lipolysis and the associated breakdown of fat cells. In this non-invasive method, the fatty tissue is sucked in using a vacuum and cooled for one hour at a temperature of around -5°C using treatment applicators equipped with integrated cooling plates. The system also constantly measures the skin temperature in the area to be treated during the entire procedure. Experience has shown that 20% to 30% of fat is lost in the treated areas per application. The surrounding tissue and other cell structures are spared. Cryolipolysis makes use of a natural cell characteristic – the higher sensitivity of fat cells to cold compared to other cells. A completely natural process occurs during the controlled and prolonged cold treatment, as the fat cells crystallize under the influence of the generated cold and apoptosis (controlled cell death) is triggered. The dead fat cells then release the body fat, which in turn is completely removed via the metabolic cycle and the lymphatic system. This decomposition process takes place over a period of 8 – 12 weeks and is therefore very gentle on the body. Optimal results are achieved after 3 treatments at intervals of 4 weeks.
