Selective photothermolysis

Selective photothermolysis describes the mode of action of light systems for permanent hair removal and various skin treatments. The approach here is based on the ability of pigments (dyes) to convert light (photo-) into heat (-thermo-) (-lysis). The resulting heat then acts on hair roots, collagen or tattoo pigments, for example, to achieve the desired results.
